Behind Jaclyn Watson Events

What inspired you to step into the world of wedding planning?

I’ve always been drawn to creating experiences that make people feel something—joy, connection, celebration. Early on, I realized that weddings were one of the most meaningful ways to do that. They bring together design, emotion, logistics, and storytelling all in one day. For someone like me who loves to create and care for others, it was a natural fit.

What really pulled me in was the opportunity to help people during such a big moment in their lives. I get to be a calming guide, a creative partner, and someone they can fully trust. I started with tented weddings and private properties, which I still love to this day. They’re a blank canvas, and every couple’s story gets to be told in a totally unique way.

Over the years, this business became more than just about events it became a way to lead, inspire and mentor others in the industry too. That’s what keeps me going: knowing we’re not just creating beautiful weddings—we’re creating memories that last a lifetime.

How do you want your couples to feel when they look back on their wedding day?

I want them to feel completely seen, celebrated, and cared for. I want them to look back and remember not just how beautiful everything looked, but how it felt. The joy. The calm. The laughter. The little moments they didn’t expect but will never forget.

My goal is always to create a wedding that reflects them—their story, their values, their style. When it’s all said and done, I want my couples to say, “That was so us, and we couldn’t have done it without you.”

That’s when I know I’ve done my job.

Where do you draw creative inspiration from, outside of the wedding world?

Inspiration is all around me—it’s in the little moments and the way things make me feel. I draw from everything that touches the senses: the smell of a candle in a boutique, the texture of a fabric I brush past, the glow of holiday window displays, or the colour palette in a Vogue editorial. I’m constantly taking in the world around me—through taste, touch, sound, sight, and scent—and turning those details into design.

I’m also deeply inspired by my couples—their love story, their energy, the way they talk about home or family. Every couple is different, and that gives me a fresh creative lens for every event. My design style is modern, romantic, and refined, and I love blending inspiration from fashion, architecture, travel, and culture to craft something that feels intentional, elevated, and true to them.

What part of the planning process lights you up the most?

The moment that lights me up the most is when it all comes together—when the music starts, the guests rise, and I see the bride walking down the aisle. In that moment, I always pause to take it in. I silently thank God for allowing this day to happen and for letting me be a part of another incredible love story.

All the months of planning, designing, and navigating the little details lead to that moment. It’s emotional, it’s powerful, and it reminds me why I do what I do. It’s not just about the beauty—it’s about the meaning behind it. That’s what fills me up every single time.

Is there a dream destination where you’d love to plan a wedding?

There are so many beautiful places I’d love to work, but Australia and Italy are definitely at the top of my list. Both offer such rich culture, stunning scenery, and a true sense of romance. That said, I’ve always had a soft spot for the beach—any oceanfront destination speaks to my soul. There’s something about the sound of the waves, the open sky, and the natural beauty of the coastline that creates such an unforgettable backdrop for a wedding. Give me a sea breeze and a love story, and I’m all in.
