Behind Love, Jackie Weddings
What draws you to wedding photography?
I’m drawn to wedding photography because of the mix of energy and meaning. It is not just an event, it carries history, relationships, and everything that led people to that moment. There is something powerful about being present for that while shaping it in a way that feels elevated but still honest. I like finding that balance where nothing feels forced, but everything feels intentional.
How do you want couples to feel when they revisit their photos?
I want them to feel like they are stepping back into something that already holds weight. Not just remembering how it looked, but reconnecting with how it felt and everything that led to it. Over time, those images become more than memories. They become part of their history, something that only gains value the further they get from it.
Where do you find creative inspiration outside of weddings?
I find a lot of inspiration outside of weddings in everyday life. Time with friends and family, the way people interact when they are relaxed, the moments that are not staged or expected. I also pull from fashion and film, but those real, personal moments are what keep my work grounded. It helps me create something that feels honest, not forced.
What are your favorite moments on a wedding day?
I am drawn to the quieter moments. The exchanges that are not planned, the reactions people do not realize they are having. A quick look, a shift in energy, something subtle but meaningful. Those are the moments that tend to stay with people.
Is there a dream location you’d love to shoot a wedding in?
I am drawn to locations that already have a sense of identity. Places where you do not have to force anything because the setting, the people, and the energy already work together. That is when everything feels effortless, and the work becomes about refining it, not creating it from scratch. That is truly a dream location – whether that here in Connecticut, or somewhere in Portugal.
