What draws you to wedding photography?
I’ve always been drawn to how emotional and meaningful weddings are. There’s something incredibly special about documenting moments that can never truly be recreated again. A wedding day holds so many emotions all at once, excitement, nerves, happy tears, overwhelming joy, nostalgia, and love, and I feel incredibly honored every time I’m trusted to preserve those memories for someone.
I love the idea that these photos become part of a family’s history. Years from now, they’re not just looking at pretty images, they’re remembering how their dad cried during the ceremony, how their grandmother held their hand before they walked down the aisle, or how they looked at each other when nobody else was paying attention. Those are the moments that matter most to me. I’ve always believed wedding photography is about so much more than documenting an event. It’s about preserving a feeling.
How do you want couples to feel when they revisit their photos?
I want couples to feel completely transported back into their wedding day. I want them to remember not only what everything looked like, but what it felt like emotionally. The excitement while getting ready, the deep breath before walking down the aisle, the tears during speeches, the laughter during the reception, and all the little moments in between that went by too quickly.
I want their photos to feel timeless, genuine, and full of life years later. I never want couples to look back at their images and feel like they were following trends or forcing moments that didn’t feel natural to them. I want them to see themselves honestly and beautifully.
I also really hope couples remember how they were treated throughout the experience with me and my team. Feeling comfortable, cared for, supported, and truly seen is such a huge part of what we do. Weddings can feel overwhelming at times, and I want my couples to feel like they have people beside them who genuinely care about making the experience feel easy, relaxed, and meaningful from start to finish.
Where do you find creative inspiration outside of weddings?
A lot of my inspiration comes from things that feel emotional, layered, nostalgic, and cinematic. Music inspires me constantly, especially songs that create a certain atmosphere or feeling. I also find inspiration in films, old film photography, fashion editorials, architecture, gardens, historic estates, museums, nature, and even weather and light.
I’m especially drawn to places that feel romantic and lived in, spaces with texture, history, movement, and softness. I love observing how light moves through a room or how colors interact naturally in a space. Even quiet everyday moments can inspire me. Sometimes it’s something as simple as sunlight hitting a curtain a certain way or the feeling of nostalgia from an old photograph.
I think inspiration comes from slowing down and really noticing things, and that mindset heavily influences how I photograph weddings.
What are your favorite moments on a wedding day?
I absolutely love emotional moments throughout the wedding day, especially First Looks when couples really let themselves feel everything in the moment. Seeing that genuine reaction, whether it’s tears, laughter, shock, or complete silence, never gets old to me. I also love when couples choose not to do a First Look and instead see each other for the very first time down the aisle. Those reactions are always incredibly emotional and impossible to recreate.
The parent dances are another huge favorite of mine. There’s usually so much emotion wrapped into those moments, and they often become some of the most meaningful photographs from the day. I love capturing tears, reactions from family members, tight hugs, and the quieter emotional moments people don’t always realize are happening around them.
Honestly, some of my favorite photographs are the ones where people forget the camera is there completely. The little glances, hand squeezes, reactions during speeches, or moments couples share when they finally get a second alone together. Those genuine interactions are the moments that stay with people forever.
Is there a dream location you'd love to shoot a wedding in?
I would absolutely love to photograph a wedding somewhere in the English countryside or in Italy. Anything with old architecture, gardens, rolling landscapes, candlelight, and a romantic atmosphere feels incredibly inspiring to me. I’m very drawn to places that feel timeless and emotional rather than overly trendy.
I also love venues with character and history, whether that’s an old estate, a villa overlooking the coast, or a tucked away garden venue surrounded by nature. I think beautiful locations can add so much atmosphere to a wedding day, but at the same time, I truly believe the emotion and connection between people is what makes a wedding unforgettable no matter where it takes place.
