Behind Alaina Elizabeth Photography

What draws you to wedding photography?

I’m a romantic at heart. I’ve always loved love stories from a young age, so it makes sense that I’ve made it my job to capture them for others. I also love meeting new people and hearing people’s stories. Wedding photography fuses all of these interests into one.

How do you want couples to feel when they revisit their photos?

I want them to be transported back to those moments. I want them to feel the joy and happiness that surrounded them on that day. I don’t

Where do you find creative inspiration outside of weddings?

Traveling, people watching, going to museums. Being in the city in general is so creatively inspiring to me – I love watching the light and the vibrancy of the city.

What are your favorite moments on a wedding day?

I love both the start and end of the wedding day. The getting ready process holds so much anticipation for what’s to come and the reception is a big sigh of relief that they can let their hair down and enjoy the night. I love watching everything come together in the morning – and everyone enjoying it all at the end of the night. More specifically, I love documenting sweet moments between the couple and their parents. Having become a parent myself in recent years, I view the wedding day completely differently now. It’s not just about the couple, but it’s about every person who has come together to make the day happen for them.

Is there a dream location you’d love to shoot a wedding in?

There are so many! I honestly just love traveling and photographing new locations. It’s always inspiring being somewhere new so I can honestly say that almost anywhere could be a dream location for me.
