Behind Tipsy Tulip Designs

What drew you to floral design for weddings?

There’s something magical about using flowers to tell a love story. I was drawn to wedding floral design because it blends creativity, emotion, and nature. When I designed the flowers for my own small wedding, I fell in love with the process. Each couple’s vision is different, and I love the challenge of transforming their ideas into something personal and unforgettable.

How do you want couples to feel when they see their wedding flowers—both in the moment and in the photos?

I want them to feel completely seen and celebrated, that every detail reflects who they are and what they love. In the moment, I hope they’re overwhelmed (in the best way) by how everything came to life, how the flowers transform the space and heighten the emotion of the day. And when they look back at their photos, I want those blooms to transport them, to instantly bring back the joy, the awe, and the feeling of being wrapped in something beautiful, intentional, and full of heart.

Where do you find creative inspiration outside of floral and event design?

Nature is always my starting point. Vermont’s shifting seasons, wildflower meadows, forest trails, and even the quiet stillness after a snowfall spark so many ideas. I’m also inspired by interior design, travel, and old-world architecture. Anywhere I can find interesting textures, movement, and unexpected color palettes. I think the most beautiful ideas often come from slowing down, paying attention, and letting yourself be moved by the little things.

What are your favorite floral moments to create on a wedding day?

I always love designing the bridal bouquet. It’s such a personal and meaningful piece. The moment the bride first sees herself as a bride is truly unforgettable. I also really enjoy working on larger floral installations for the ceremony and reception spaces. There’s something special about transforming those areas into beautiful, inviting settings that reflect the couple’s story and style. It feels amazing to add that extra touch of magic that helps make the whole day feel even more memorable.

Is there a dream location or setting where you’d love to design wedding florals?

My dream venue to flower is definitely Cedar Lake Estates. I love the combination of its stunning natural beauty and elegant, timeless architecture. The lakeside views and lush surroundings create such a magical backdrop for floral design. It’s the kind of place where you can really let your creativity flow and craft something truly unforgettable for a couple’s special day.
