Taylor Spence Photography
Taylor is a New Jersey wedding photographer serving New Jersey, New York City, Philadelphia, and destination weddings. She blends documentary storytelling with an editorial eye, capturing each celebration with a calm and intentional approach.
Her presence is both supportive and unobtrusive. She offers guidance when needed, then steps back to allow moments to unfold naturally. As a result, every image feels authentic while still being thoughtfully composed.
From quiet, emotional exchanges to packed dance floors, her work captures the full rhythm of a wedding day. Her imagery feels cinematic, nostalgic, and deeply personal — photographs that truly feel like memories.
In addition to digital and 35mm photography, Taylor also offers Super 8 highlight films. This provides couples with a timeless and vintage way to preserve their day, adding depth and emotion to their final gallery.
Behind Taylor Spence Photography
What draws you to wedding photography?
Taylor’s love for wedding photography began long before she ever picked up a camera. Growing up, she spent time flipping through family photo albums while listening to the stories behind each image. As a result, she developed a deep appreciation for the emotion and history that photographs can hold.
She has also always been drawn to storytelling. Much like a favourite romance novel, weddings follow a familiar ending, yet every journey feels entirely unique. That sense of anticipation and individuality is what continues to inspire her work.
After second shooting her first wedding, she fell even more in love with the experience. The connections, fleeting moments, fashion, and celebration all come together to tell a story. While trends may evolve, the heart of a wedding remains the same — the union of two people and the coming together of their lives, families, and traditions.
How do you want couples to feel when they revisit their photos?
Taylor wants couples to feel as though they are stepping back into their wedding day. When they revisit their images, the emotions should come rushing back — the excitement, the nerves, the laughter, and the people who surrounded them.
In many ways, the experience mirrors how past generations would revisit old photo albums. The goal is to create something nostalgic and deeply personal. These are photographs that not only show how the day looked, but also how it felt.
Where do you find creative inspiration outside of weddings?
Taylor finds inspiration in both the everyday and the unexpected. She is drawn to fashion, cinema, books, and travel, as well as the small details that often go unnoticed.
Sometimes, it’s the way light falls across a space or how an object is styled. Other times, it’s found in old photographs — the kind discovered in family albums or forgotten boxes. The colour, texture, and emotion within those images continue to shape how she sees and captures a moment.
What are your favourite moments on a wedding day?
While weddings are filled with expected highlights, Taylor is often drawn to the quieter, in-between moments. These are the moments where personalities naturally shine.
It could be a burst of laughter between friends, a small unexpected mishap, or a meaningful interaction with a loved one. In particular, she values the time couples spend with family members who hold deep significance in their lives.
Often, these moments go unnoticed in real time. However, they become some of the most meaningful memories when couples look back on their day.
Is there a dream location you’d love to shoot a wedding in?
A coastal wedding sits at the top of Taylor’s list. She is drawn to locations that combine relaxed elegance with natural seaside beauty.
She envisions settings with whitewashed walls, terracotta tones, and soft blue details overlooking the water. At the same time, her love for travel means she is always open to new destinations.
Wherever the story unfolds, she is ready to pack her camera and capture it.
