A short interview

What draws you to weddings?

There’s something incredibly meaningful about knowing that someone trusts me enough to help carry a day that means so much to them. My day at work is someone else’s best day of their life, and being trusted with that is an honor I don’t take lightly.

How do you want couples to feel when they experience your work?

I want you to feel like you have someone firmly in your corner. Someone you can ask the ridiculous question, send the half-formed idea, or call when something has gone sideways and know that we’ll figure it out together.

Where do you find creative inspiration outside of weddings?

Almost everywhere. Restaurants, hotels, fashion, movies, music, architecture, theater, art, an interesting object I find somewhere or one tiny detail that sends me down an entirely unnecessary rabbit hole. I’m much more interested in borrowing ideas from outside the wedding world and asking “what would this look like as a wedding?” than looking at another wedding and figuring out how to recreate it.

What are your favorite moments on a wedding day?

Knowing that I am the last person you see before you walk down the aisle to marry your favorite person and then crying during your ceremony. I’ve invested so much time in getting to know you and your relationship that, by the time your wedding day arrives, I feel like I’m part of your family, too.

Is there a dream location you'd love to work a wedding in?

So, so many. But if I had to choose just one: the George Peabody Library in Baltimore MD.
