A short interview

What draws you to weddings?

I'm drawn to weddings for their combination of so many elements: families and friends gathering in one place, getting to celebrate and capture one of the happiest days of people's lives, and experiencing the fulfillment of seeing the joy couples have when I send over their film and they watch it for the first time.

How do you want couples to feel when they experience your work?

When couples experience my work, I want them to feel transported back to their wedding day. I want them to feel the emotions they felt, remember the people that were there, and remind them of the vows they told each other.

Where do you find creative inspiration outside of weddings?

I seek inspiration from many places. As a person of faith, I believe God has empowered all of us to create. Spending time in nature takes me back to the beauty of His creation all around us. Watching other films, whether it be other weddings, movies, or just seeing a beautiful piece of artwork in a museum can often get me excited about creating, seeing how someone else thinks about a particular creative work.

What are your favorite moments on a wedding day?

My favorite moments of a wedding day are ones where the couple is being authentically themselves. Capturing those moments always makes for the best film. Seeing the reactions of mom, dad, friends, and other family bring me so much joy to capture. Also getting to capture the vows and speeches, which is often the backbone in many of our films.

Is there a dream location you'd love to work a wedding in?

I would love to be able to shoot a wedding in Italy someday!
