I'm Bridget, luxury honeymoon designer and founder of Ultimate Getaway Finder, and honeymoons are my favorite thing to design.

Every couple is really two people with two ideas of the perfect trip. One wants to wander every hill town in Tuscany, the other wants to read by the pool. Finding the trip that makes both of you light up is the part I love.

What draws you to weddings?

What draws me to honeymoons is that they're the first trip a couple takes as a married couple, and there's something special about being trusted with that. After all the planning and stress of the wedding itself, the honeymoon is the exhale, the part that's just about the two of them. I love getting to know a couple and figuring out the trip that makes both of them happy, because they almost always want slightly different things. Finding the balance between adventure and rest, between what he's dreaming of and what she's picturing, is my favorite kind of challenge. That's the part I could do all day.

How do you want couples to feel when they experience your work?

I want couples to feel taken care of. Truly taken care of, in a way most of them haven't experienced before, because they're usually the ones handling everything for everyone else. From the first conversation I want them to feel heard, like I actually get who they are as a couple and what matters to them. And once they're on the trip, I want them fully present. No stress about logistics, no wondering if they booked the right thing, no half-checking their phone. Just the two of them, relaxed and reconnected, making the kind of memories they'll still talk about years from now.

Where do you find creative inspiration outside of weddings?

Traveling myself, honestly. Every trip I take with my own family and friends teaches me something I bring back to my couples, whether it's a hotel that got every detail right, a long meal that went on for hours, or a quiet moment somewhere beautiful that reminded me why we travel in the first place. I pay attention to how a place makes me feel, what made an experience special, what I'd do differently next time. Those trips are where I collect the ideas, the instincts, and the little details that end up shaping the getaways I design for others.

What are your favorite moments on a wedding day?

My favorite part is the moment a couple realizes their honeymoon was truly designed for them. It's when they notice the little things I worked in after getting to know them, the details that prove I was really listening. The restaurant that's exactly their kind of place, the experience that fits them perfectly, the quiet touches they never asked for but somehow always wanted. That's when it stops feeling like a trip they booked and starts feeling like theirs. Seeing a couple realize their honeymoon was personalized down to those small details is the part I love most.

Is there a dream location you'd love to work a wedding in?

Italy, without question. It's my greatest love and the place I know most intimately. I've planned over 18 honeymoons to Italy and not one has been the same, because the whole point is building each one around the couple, not a template. Whether it's a slow week on the Amalfi Coast, wandering the hill towns of Tuscany, or falling for Rome the way I did on my first trip, I plan every Italian honeymoon with the kind of personal detail that only comes from years of being there myself. I never get tired of it. If a couple tells me they're dreaming of Italy, that's the moment I know we're going to have fun together.
